I can't take credit for this, but I sorta want to. This idea brought to you by my good friend Andrea, who always seems to know fun stuff like this and also always seems to know what the exact temperature is for the day. Which is important cuz if you're walking around saying is 76 degrees out, but really its 68, well then that's a problem and you might need a jacket. But a bigger problem is wearing your ring for months (err, years??) without cleaning it. And that's where the title of this post comes in.
When your ring gets all gooped up with soap, lotion, etc. try this cheap trick:

3 T water
1 T ammonia
Soak for 10 minutes. Then scrub with old toothbrush.
Rinse. Dry. Wear. Enjoy.

ReplyDeleteMy recipe is a few T water to a few T hydrogen peroxide. I discovered that when my ring started really irritating my skin. I clean it often, but the HP really did it (you're a chemist, so I'll leave the mechanics of it to you).
