I decided not to get all themed out with Jude’s party when I realized just how much work it would be. We kept things small and easy. Turned out to be the best decision because on the day of his party, I actually got to take a nap—which I see as almost necessary when you plan to be serving food and cake the rest of the night…wink, wink.
We served pizza & Caesar salad. Some fruit. And a homemade cake. I put up balloon garland and called it good.
Jude smiled his biggest squinty grin when he opened presents—taking time to look at everyone. He clapped, almost on cue. Then he found some little rocks on the patio and decided those were better than his gifts.
He chillaxed in his high chair, kicking back and eating his cake with one hand—more interested in everything else.
The weather held and we partied hardy. Jude stayed up ‘til 10—happy to be part of the crew. Crockett put together his new smart trike and wheeled him about the whole house. Twas cute.
Crazy to think we now have a 1 year old.
before i read your narration, my favorite picture was Jude surrounded by gifts but instead inspecting a tiny gravel morsel!!! ha, so cute. well done!
