SoCal {was} SoCool.

A few weekends ago, I went on a little trip with one of my BFFs to Santa Monica...or Venice Beach...but I prefer to say Santa Monica.    We managed to get in some good bike time, a little beach time, and a lot of girl time.

{HIGHLIGHTS}
-the free bikes that came along with our little condo.
-morning coffee & yogurt on our little patio at our little condo.
-being able to take the backroads all the way to the beach.
-managing to see Queen Latifah, Mel Gibson, Kirstie Alley, Bradley Cooper...wink, wink.
-hot sand on a cool day.
-some wine & some brie.
-the hike down to the "prettiest beach" --complete with yellow flowers the whole way down.
-renting a car and driving up the Pacific Highway, where Amy searched and searched for Jillian Michael's home.
-flowers everywhere.  and palm trees.
-Amy's ballet feet...she was a dancer growing up and so now her ankles naturally always fall into a perfect ballet point.  I always get a kick out of it.
-constantly singing the Beach Boys.
-accidentally honking the horn at an old lady crossing the road.  This is only in the highlights section because it's one of the funniest things I've ever done/witnessed.  We. Could. Not. Stop. Laughing.  When the lady got to the other side, she stuck her tongue out at us. (see also LOWLIGHTS)

{LOWLIGHTS}
-the high 60/low 70 degree weather.
-wearing jeans and a silk shirt to the beach.
-a certain someone neglecting to tell a certain me that she didn't put sunscreen on her legs.
-the resulting SCORCH on said certain someone's legs.
-my engorged boobs and Amy having to hear about them hourly.
-accidentally honking the horn at a little old lady and not being able to let her know it was an accident.  we were not trying to be punk kids (or punk ladies).  I swear.
-missing my baby boy.
-Amy losing her iPhone.
-Amy losing her iPhone.
