If you want the truth, this is how it went down. Saturday morning I'm up with Jude. We have breakfast, we play. We go bug Crockett to wake up. We play some more. We go beg Crockett to wake up. Finally he does. And then I beg to go somewhere. Get me outta this house, unwashed dishes and all.
We went for a stroll up Big Cottonwood at Silver Lake. I was one happy girl, tagging along with two grumps. We let Jude out of his pack to run free. Then I was one happy girl with one happy baby and one silent husband. I was bumbling all sorts of phrases--conversations with myself. Basically.
"Isn't it pretty up here?"
"This is so nice."
"Look how much fun he's having."
"Oh man, he is sooo cute."
"Why's he so cute?"
"Isn't this fun?"
I think I did hear a, "yeah, this is actually pretty nice." at least once. And I know I heard Jude say, "boody, boody, boody." like a hundred times, which is birdy if you couldn't catch that and music to my ears.
On the drive back down the canyon, we decided to splurge (nutritionally speaking) and hit up Five Guys. Then we hit up Target and bought BossyPants (for a gift). And slowly, s-l-o-w-l-y I realized that Dave was waking up. He was laughing and talking. And by 5 o'clock, he was his regular old self again.
Finally.
The way I see it, there are two things I could learn from this story.
One--when Crockett wants to sleep in--just let him. Eventually he'll stumble out of bed with a smile on his face.
or
Two--when I want to get out and do something, just keep bugging. Eventually he'll cave in, and eventually he'll wake up.
Hmm, I'll have to think long and hard about this one.
ahh so glad you are back online. Is it just me or do jude and dave have the same expressions and mannerisms on their face much of the time. such cute pics. hmmmmm someone being a little grumpy in the morning reminds me of someone . . . :)
