Halloween 2011--it was all a blur...
Because our camera was set on a funky setting, and because kids just don't sit still. But, I don't care. I'm posting these anyway, cuz they're all I got. This year we had the family up for some chili, some candy, and some trick-or-treating. Highlights include Cruz running up to a door yelling "hah-o-ween time!", Slade triple dipping at each house, me calling an old man Freddie Kruegar (he was just an old Indiana Jones), a man dubbing Jude as the little professor, Jude eating all the candy with the wrapper still on, and perfect 60 degree weather. The only real downer were the houses we went to with decorations up, porch lights on, and no one home. But, after a slow start things picked up and all the kids managed to haul in some pretty good loot. Ava even got to go out twice.
Jude started to really join in the fun towards the end. He'd butt his way up front so he could knock on the door, and he stared into the bowls of candy like he'd found hidden treasures. Then he run a muck on a serious sugar high, and crashed pretty fast--lunging out of my arms and into his cozy bed. We had a lot of fun, and certainly looking forward to more years of little kids in costumes. Isn't it the best thing?
Thanks Mama for busting together some chili to keep the tradition alive, and Dad for bringing the apple cider. It hit the spot. And Rachel--the mummy dogs were....__________. He, he.
