The weekend started off on Saturday night--we bought some Greek food and went up the hill to watch the fireworks over the valley. Can you tell that the real show stopper was the sunset--by far one of the best things about living in Salt Lake City? Ah, it was a nice chill night, just listening to the radio and contemplating how many cities in the US celebrate July the 4th on July the 3rd when July the 4th falls on a Sunday. BTW, we figured not many.
Then on Sunday, the fam all got together to celebrate this guy (a late Father's Day get-together). Original plans involved going to the pool, but since it was a bit chilly, we reorganized and had a picnic at the park. Must admit, even though my brother was bummed he didn't get to work on his P90X tan, I was delighted because I'm not yet allowed to get in a pool...
Plus, going to the park meant that the whole gang could show up. Here are partners in crime, Juno & Koda.
In this shot, Dave, Slade & Ava are making me a mustard and salt sandwich. You should try one sometime...
Then on Monday, we went for a walk/hike to the dog park. Um, can you guess what I've got inside my backpack??
Yep, Little Jude. He was quite cozy, but you better believe I was one hot mama by the time we got back to our car.
I wish I snapped a pic of Dave & Juno traversing across a log that was about 4 feet up above this stream. All the other dog owners were quite amazed at their skillz. I was a bit freaked by their skillz.
Here's a question. How many pictures can I take of a sleeping baby before I get bored? A whole mother load. Which is good, because he is one sleepy, sleepy kid...
And then we finished off the weekend with a Red, White & Blue BBQ at our house. So happy "everyone" came.
**"Everyone being Dave, Jude & myself. You totally can't tell these are self-timed photos, right? Right.
ahhh, lisa! you look so good. the self timed pics of the happy fam and the one of Jude in his carseat are my fave. i'm coming over again this week. coolio?
ReplyDeletewhat woulda made that sunset even cooler you ask? if you were parked beside us! love you red, white and blue patriots!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect weekend! And, ps-- you look so great, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteLook at you, only a month out and hiking, hosting bbqs, going to stuff. I am impressed. I guess that says a lot about your labor/delivery, too--definitely not what I had! And is that an Ergo I spy? It's still on my list. I know I'm going to get one eventually...they just cost so darn much! We delight in the Moby for now. But I also lived in that for the first 14 weeks, because I did not have a baby like Jude who just fell asleep when tired, all by themselves. What a miracle! Wow. That's great for you!
