So I found this recipe from Cooking Light after I decided my broccoli could use some spicing up. Pretty much the only thing I ever do with it is steam it, and put some spray butter on it. And while that'll likely always be go-to way of eating broccoli, it also gets B to the O to the R to the ING!
OK, main reasons I like this recipe are: (1) it only uses 5 ingredients and (2) all of them we typically already have in our kitchen. Ever since having this baby, little trips to the store just seem annoying.
INGREDIENTS
2 teaspoons olive oil
6 cups broccoli florets (about 1 head)
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1/4 cup water
Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 1 cup)
WHAT TO DO:
Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add broccoli, kosher salt, crushed red pepper, and sliced garlic. Sauté 2 minutes. Add 1/4 cup water. Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook for 2 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender.
Note: This broccoli really was tasty delicious! It seems to have a bit of an Asian flair, so choose the rest of your meal accordingly.
