Yep, here we go again.
Come end of September, I'll be dozing with a wee little babe cozy on my chest, dying over some perfect newborn lips, and stroking a soft peach fuzzy head. You know, soaking up the best things in life.
But, in the meantime, I'll be living life as a pregnant lady. And that, for me, has been hellish the last few months. It was a dark, and lonely winter! It's funny how when you're in the thick of it, early pregnancy seems so never-ending. Soooo tired, soooo nauseous, nothing sounds good to eat, but yet, eating makes you feel better. On a sickness level, things coulda been worse, and like my pregnancy with Jude, I never threw up. But, it felt worse, if only because I had another little person to take care of all along the way. Jude and I scraped by this winter on lots of peanut butter and honey sandwiches for dinner, little-to-no vegetables ever, and The Backyardigans instead of books at nigh-nigh time. Not my best parenting moment to come home, flip on the TV, and snooze while Jude does what he does--but hey, we made it through!!
This time around everyone knew as soon as we did that I was pregnant. I think I liked this better--not trying to hide my feelings, tiredness, lameness...but, did it maybe make it seem longer?? Maybe. I dunno, getting to 13 weeks just felt longgggggg.
In general, I think this pregnancy is pretty similar to my first.
Except for:
I get up to pee a lot more than I remember with Jude. I don't remember that being an issue til late pregnancy. This time, it's been 2-3x/night. But, even that is getting better now.
I feel better, sooner. I think it was about 15 weeks when I started to see the light with Jude. This time, it was about 13 weeks.
I really can't stand to be around the smell of cooked onions.
My boobs feel like they're ready to nurse this child. Heavy, sore, and big! (err, bigger. wink, wink)
And, ummm, hot flashes!
I've gained 10 lbs, whereas with Jude at this time I'd gained 6 lbs. Trying to take Rachie's advice and say, "Bring it!" but gaining weight is just never easy.
That being said, I'm already loving some maternity jeans, but still trying to suck in my gut for appearances sake.
So, there you have it. Our exciting news! Hopefully, this post will spark my blogging fire and I'll get up some gusto to tell ya what Jude's been up to as of late. Hopefully.
**And...Rach and I are gonna try our darndest to get creative and photo-document this pregnancy similar (but different) from the last...so stay posted.
so happy <3
