Around these parts, you'll see Jude climbing up the side table, bouncing/crawling/walking across the couch, and then climbling down the other side table. You'll see him playing with his trains, yelling "choo-choo all aboard!!!" and then "oh no. crash."
This is his new, weird concentration face. He means business! |
You'll hear him say stuff like, "wanna go on a waaaaaalk. ou-side? ou-side?" and then we'll repeat it and he'll give a little nod and say "k".
He'll be practicing his stairs, (but thankfully always waits for my hand or holds onto the railing).
He's trying his darndest to learn how to share...without going through an emotional breakdown...or maybe not, but we're trying our damndest to teach him! ;)
At nighttime, he asks to read his books again. and again. and again. And if that doesn't work, he'll ask for water...he's a smart cookie trying to divert attention from actually going to bed. But, he never actually throws a fit. When I pick him up to put him in bed, he's still playing along with me. He loves to kick his feet up until I ask him to "put your feet down" and then he goes straight as an arrow while I tuck him in. He thinks it a game.
Lately, when I try to sing him a song goodnight, he puts his hand over my mouth and says "no." I guess that was bound to happen sooner or later. ;)
When he wakes up from naps, you can bet he'll be jumping away in the crib. The other day, I took a little while to get him up from his nap...he was playing in there, and I was having a hard time waking up from my snooze...Finally I hear Jude say, "Mommy, where are you Mommy?" That gotta me right outta bed.
You'll hear him wandering around the house, giving possession to all things..."dat's Jude's shoes." "dat's Mommy's pillow." "dat's Andra's chair." "dat's Juno's ball. dat's Juno's beddddd."
He likes to help you with anything and everything. "i try?" "i try?"
Tonight we had full-blown tears of sadness as I tried to help him put his pants on.
He. Wants. To. Do. It. By. Himself.
When he does something by himself, he'll tell himself, "good job!"
When we're in the car, he's on repeat until you say, "Yes Jude, that was a bus/fire truck/bike/etc."
He's loving his shades, and loving his hats! Summer + white skin = hat-as-a-must-have.
Yesh, yesh--perfect timing!!
Let's see, what else?? Jude has amazing pronunciation for most words. He really watches you and tries, and repeats til he gets it right. Except for L's in the middle of a word are non-existant, and R's throw him for a loop....so Slade is currently Swade...Rachel is Wachel...train is twain.
He's for the most part, happy-go-lucky--and greets most visitors with an enthusiastic, high-pitched squeaky "Hi!!!!"
so cute and such a fun age watching them discover anything and everything, including words! congrats on your pregnancy- that's awesome!
ReplyDeletei love this post! what a sweet little, big eyed bugger. get more and more personality every day! you described him perfectly....obviously, Momma ;)
ReplyDeleteand if Jude ever gets sick of me when he's older, we'll show him this and say "see, you love andra!". if i ever have a baby, i hope it's a boy and Jude can show him the ropes.
ReplyDeletegood recap of the little cutie. He has to be the most giggly, good natured little guy around. His big eyes and smile melt your heart. Then when big aligator tears start to roll because he wants something, there is absolutely no way to say no.
