Picking fabric--easy. Getting staples, extra padding--easy. Finding the time--seemed easy enough to complete one night after Jude went to bed. Amount of work--wayyyyyyy underestimated. And hence the title of this post. In reality, this project took me a weekend, and multiple nights, and I had to recruit some help from Dave and my mom.

Yes, I really did use about 1200 staples. My hand was in a chronic claw-like state for that whole week (it's the claw, you're afraid of the claw. dink. dink...anyone? anyone?).
Much love and respect and a few fist pumps goes out there to all those legit do-it-yourselfers. I don't think I'll ever look at Design*Sponge or Apartment Therapy the same way again.
These look amazing. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI think you can officially call yourself a legit do it yourselfer! These are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteimpressed, but never underestimated your skillz!!!
ReplyDeletethose turned out awesome! I've never recovered chairs before and now after reading this post I'm sketchy to. I always thought it was easy to do, but apparently not!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE what you did to those chairs!
ReplyDeleteThat West Elm dining set really is lovely, but I think you did a great job with these chairs. And I must say, your determination is admirable. Oh, and I love the Jim Carrey quote (if I'm not mistaken).
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by my blog and following!
Holy moly, I am impressed. Those are some good looking chairs! You are very talented.
