Here is the first legit snow of the season. My goal is to get out for walks all throughout the winter. So I was all jazzed when we bundled up and headed out. My cheeks were all rosy, and I could see my breath, and everything was sparkling diamonds. But, dammmmnn. It was frosty outside. I got to the end of the driveway before I headed back in for some gloves and a hat. Even then, we only ventured to the end of the sidewalk. I mean, hell--why'd I lug this big camera out here?? my hands. I can't feel my hands! So now a new goal is to find my for reals gloves and not these $1 cheapies. We had Jude pretty snug up in his stroller, but he didn't move a muscle once we were outside, so we knew he musta been conserving energy.
Our real weekend was like this: errands and a happy child by day, grumpy tyrant by night. He's slept the last two nights in our bed, which means his face is an inch away from mine at all times, he has to have me touching him and I'm kinked and stiff the next day. Guess what's on our wish list this holiday season? A king size bed.
And here's the 4,356,663 reason why I wish I was a stay-at-home-mom: that dilemma of if I got get Jude from his bed in the middle of the night but have to leave at 5:30 am, that essentially means Dave is waking up at that point too (even if I managed to get out of bed without Jude noticing, it's another thing getting ready and out the door without him noticing as well). So instead, on nights like these, I lay awake, stressed out with my mind on repeat: please stop crying, please stop crying, please stop crying. It kills me. I've concluded that if I was a homey, I could go get Jude when he wailed and wailed and then when it was time for Dave to wake up, we'd wake up too--and do crafts, bake, and watch Oprah reruns all day in our jammies...sounds about right, doesn't it? ;)
i hope you make it through the day ok :(
ReplyDeletesounds about not right for a stay at home mama! but i wish that were so. my days of Oprah or tv are loooong gone. love the pics, especially the first one. yay hay for winter walks! fresh air always does the soul some good. i should try it sometime ;)
ReplyDelete"...if I was a homey,"
ReplyDeleteHa! You make me laugh.
I think the term SAHM should be forever changed to homey. And you should get all the cred.
I like you, TrueLu.
duuuuuude...you haven't posted in a week ;)
ReplyDeleteYou guys really got it! I can't believe we have not had any snow yet--this time last year we were getting over a massive 10-14" storm. I am not one bit sad. Once or twice I saw flurries--like five--in the air, but that was it. Ahh. Let winter wait.
