Leland crawls.
With little to no hesitation.
Looking back, I think he was frustrated for a while, maybe a month or so.
Wasn't so much cranky, but kinda. Just not as happy as usual.
Not to compare, (but I like to compare) the differences seen so early on between Leland and Jude are incredible. Both crawled about the same time.
With Jude, I remember he would be up on all fours and just look, and look, and look. And then he would sorta rock. And eventually, he would throw a hand out, but would just stay put. I wanna say it was a month of practicing like this--but when he did attempt his first "crawl" he did so with perfect form.
With Leland, he pushed himself up onto his stiff arms, belly flat on the floor. Then started to move one leg up under him. Then he got both, and 2 days later, he was scooting on his knees a few steps. And then crawl a few paces and then stop and have a sit. And then crawling and bear-crawling on one side. And now, full-blown crawling and exploring, with no hesitation. Like I said. All within a matter of 2 weeks.
And he is happy! So dang happy at his new found freedom. I love this stage. Where you actually get to see what they have interest in, what catches their eye, what makes them go hmmm.
So there you have it. Leland crawls, at 8 and 1/2 months.
Took these pics the day before he made is move. Fun to see the range of emotions that took place all within a matter of seconds to minutes. And had to include the pic below, full color! This little face is just so, so Leland. This is the concerned, stink-eye I get on the daily during what should be sweet moments--nursing, rocking to sleep, etc. Ha! Not so much, Leland?
great post. Made me laugh out loud about the stink eye. that little guy can give some looks.
