Leland's 1st year B-Day Party

Had a little family birthday party for our Lelo.  Goodness, it was fun, but also quite different from Jude's.  Leland had a blast and toddled around or was carried around with all the kids.  So at one point or another, I was like, "Hey, wait--where is the birthday boy?!"  The party was loud, and chaotic, and pretty much a full house of love for our little guy.

It's crazy how much these kids eat up little Leland.  Being the baby of the whole family definitely has it's perks...

Leland mellowly ate his cake, picking up the whole piece at once and nibbling on it as he watched the room.  

And perhaps the highlight of the whole night, was this quilt.  Ava made it for him, and the story behind it is just so sweet it nearly made me cry.  When each cousin turns 8 on the Cowan side, their Grandma Marilyn lets them make a quilt with her.  It's something she's been looking forward to for years.  I think you can guess where this story goes, but when it came time to make Ava's, she chose to make one for Leland instead.  She kept it a secret from Rach for months, and actually did most of it herself!  So. dang. incredibly. sweet.   Needless to say, he sleeps with it every night.
