Fam Trip 2014

The unusual really cool thing about my family in that even though my parents have been divorced since we were elementary aged kids, we have always done things together still as one big happy family.  Christmases growing up were meshed, and birthdays seamless.  And as a child, this was huge.  Divorce is so difficult even in the best situations, but my parents ability to see the big picture saved us so much heartache and loneliness.  Fast forward to 2014, and we are all in our 30s.  Lives and families of our own, but still able to take time to all be together.  We call each other the "Eskimo family" because Eskimos welcome new friends as family.

This year we rented a big condo and spent the long weekend in St. George.  Mornings were spent out on the balcony, coffee in hand, watching the sun light the red rocks, while Chris or Scott strummed on the guitar.  Days were spent at the pool, kids swimming, (some) adults lounging.   We went for walks, and surrey rides.  The kids bounced around on the bunk beds.  We climbed on rocks and fished.  Nights were spent grilling and dancing out under the stars.   It was super heaven. And here is some proof.

  1. That all looks like so much fun! What a great way to spend time with family. I totally need to be transported to those red rocks, and fast. Really, this just tell me I need any kind of vacation!
