*Edit* Turns out I took three pictures on this trip, chronicling Jude's first road trip.
Well it should come as no surprise that I forgot to take any pictures this past Thanksgiving, but I gotta say--I am surprised! I mean I took my camera up to Boise--but then never ended up taking my purse anywhere and so....no pictures. Boo! But things I'm thankful for are:
-We made it safely up and back. Winter weather both ways led to a 5 hour drive turning into a 9 hour drive and me telling Dave to slow down every 5 minutes.
-Pumping. For the most part, I hate pumping--I even hate the word pumping. Gross. But, it sure did come in handy on the road. When the drive takes that long, it's a definite plus not to have to spend an extra 20 minutes at a gas station parking lot...even if I did feel a bit silly.
-Jude being the chillest baby I've met--his first time away and he did so good! We're talking basically no naps the first 2 days and sleeping through the crazy rowdiness of the Forester's at night. One night Jude decided to stay awake til 11, which I wasn't to thrilled about, but he was happy as long as I held him and he could see what was going on.
-Forester Family. I think I'm finally getting the hang of playing games into the wee hours of the night and watching 30 year old men wrestle on the floor. The whole trip seemed relaxing, even though it was somewhat chaotic.
-Laughing, eating, laughing some more, and eating again...and late night talks.
So gobble, gobble. Now time to get down to business and get Jude back on a decent sleep schedule, start solids, decorate for Christmas and shop til we drop.
jude waited until you returned to the comfort of SLC to repay you for those long days/nights. 30 yr olds wrestling how funny, now just show them who is boss in the pudding.
ReplyDeletejude has some great expressions..i don't know what it is about the middle picture it kills me..and it so cool at the same time- that look, ha. missed you three and glad you had a greeeat time.
ReplyDeletep.s. do you realize you could've been at the beach in california after a 9 hour drive. just sayin.
