EEK!

I've never been a girl who does anything on a whim, so why I decided to buy $200 dollars worth of cloth diapers in the wee hours of the night, I'll never know.  This is how it went down.

--Bored at work.
--Cloth diapers randomly pop into my head.
--Ask a friend at work what she thinks of them...and she thinks it's a great idea (umm, she HAS no kids).
--Tell Dave I'm thinking about it, he says, "Sure, let's try a few."
--I come home from work, look at this & this.
--I BUY 12 non-returnable cloth diapers...at 1 AM.

WHAT!?!?! DID?!?!? I?!?!? JUST!?!?! DO!?!??!  That's what ran through my head until 3 AM when I think I finally dozed off.

I'm just hoping it's divine intervention.  Seriously, folks.  What did I just do.

  1. okay this is really random and I hope you don't think I am too weird... I am friends with Rachel (I am a photographer too) and I noticed that she took pictures of your baby and I decided to follow your blog... anyway

I use cloth diapers and I love them, they really aren't a pain and works well especially when you are home. If you have any questions you can email me aprilnewman@gmail.com

  5. Lisa, way to go! Welcome to the club! You'll love it, but there is a rather steep learning curve. We've tried probably 8 makes and models and FBs are in my top two. (My other top: Rumparooz. They are like super diapers.)

But you're going to need more than 12--about 15 is right to wash every two to three days. I also recommend getting biodegradable liners for when Jude has solid waste (is he there yet?)--we like Imse Vimse these days.

Anyway, the most important things I've learned? Ask questions. Lots of them. Everything I know, I learned from asking and trying. So if you have questions, ask away.

Also, if I'd known you were looking at CDs, I would have told you to do the trial at Diaper Daisy (diaperdaisy.com). That gives you experience without the $$$ investment. But $200 for $12 one-size FBs? That's actually a good deal. They're normally ~$20 per. We're coming out there tomorrow and I'd say you can see how we use them, but I decided that it's too complicated to travel with them, so it's disposables for us while we're there.

Am I crazy to do this with a newborn? I just want to.

Email me all of your information!!!!!!!!!
