As I mentioned earlier, we gave J-Bear a new bed for his birthday. Although we were happy with him in his crib, we decided to make this transition now, so that when the new peanut arrives he wouldn't feel like the baby stole his bed and all that.
Should I be surprised with this kid that the transition was smooth sailing? Ha! It was, of course. He took a nap in it his first day with no problems. And, in the last few weeks, I've only had one day where he wouldn't take his nap. Boy, that was a lonnnnnnng day--mostly cuz my pregnant self likes to take a nap when he does. I let him play around in there for like 45 minutes that day--trying to ignore the toy cars I could hear running along the walls, and closet doors banging. When I walked in to get him, I found him tucked in his closet, socks on his hands, room a mess! He walked out and pointed his mitt at me, and said, "I take a nap, Mommy." Was really cute, but ummmm, no you didn't!
We have friends who've said that when they moved their kids to beds, they still would call for them to come get them out. We were hoping for this, but to no avail! By day 3, in the morning, Dave and I could hear his door knob twisting for a while (old door knobs...he still struggles to open a bit) and then a squeaky door opening, and then a "hellllllllllllo?? hellllllllllo?" From my bed, I can look down the hall to see morning hair J-bear standing smiling. It's the cutest dang thing.
And I just gotta say, Mr. Turtle has been one of the best gifts ever! Jude freaking loves it at night, and all I had to say was that when Mr. Turtle came on, it's night-night time. And that when he turns off, it's not time to cry (we did have like 2 nights of going in there every 20 minutes to put him back to bed) but that it was time to go to sleep. Worked like a charm!
And here's a few from his last days in the crib...
I'm so impressed! I'm kind of dreading switching beds...maybe mason will surprise me. So happy Jude likes his bed that's awesome
